Start from your institutional profile, identify the program under consideration, and select the comparators that matter to your context.
Read the signals
Review student demand, labor-market evidence, graduate earnings, and the competitive landscape, each drawn from cited federal sources.
Test the assumptions
Model enrollment and financial scenarios, recording the reasoning behind each input so that others can see and question it.
Publish the decision package
Generate a full report for cabinet or board discussion, exportable as a web page or print-ready document.
Designed around leadership judgment.
The tacit knowledge of academic leaders is part of the method rather than noise to be removed. Leaders choose the comparators, define the institutional context, and test the assumptions against what they know about their students, faculty capacity, and regional role.
Findings are framed as questions worth investigating rather than forecasts. Provost Lab surfaces the evidence and the tradeoffs, and the decision remains with the people accountable for it.
AI that supports, not decides.
AI-assisted synthesis drafts narrative from the analysis, and it is optional. A complete report can be produced from the underlying analysis alone, with leaders writing their own interpretation.
No integration project.
There is no enterprise integration or data warehouse to build. Studies begin with public data and can incorporate institution-provided figures when they are available.
Evidence you can trace.
Every figure is cited to its source, and every assumption appears in the published report, so the analysis can be checked by the people who will be asked to defend it.
